Sam wakes up to find himself the captive of vampire hunters. Having no memory, he’s confused about why they insist he’s not human. Admittedly, he’s not quite himself. His hearing is a little better, and he can’t help reacting strangely to certain scents, but he attributes this to his hazy, drugged state.

His captors disagree. They call themselves the Clan, and they tell him he’s the youngest they’ve ever seen, a newborn only days old. Supposedly, he’s so precious that the vampires will start a war just to get him back.

If someone’s trying to rescue him, that’s good news, but Sam doesn’t believe in vampires. Even if they are real…what would such creatures want with an ordinary college kid like him?

Embrace is a novella of about 27k or 90 pages.

Officially, I loved the entire three book series, it was hinted at there being a 4th one, as such I really want to continue the story.

As for those that hated this story because it is a 'micro' story with tons of cliffies, you can see how long a book is by looking over the listing. It's short, meaning it is either a broken story (that usually time skips) or it is a one shot. Personally, I don't mind a broken plot sequence like this as much as I hate cliff hanger one shots that leave everything open to interpretation.

As for the ugliness and the beatings? I find it rediculously realistic. Humans fear that of which they do not understand, with that fear comes destruction. So the way the layout is, the. Whining with the 'righteous' beatings, please; that isn't anything.

Most people have read Harry Potter books and found the first book the best of its genre, I found that pretty distasteful. This is very different from that. The beating is minor (though it did make me cringe), I find it to be essential to the plot.

The characters are good, the plot is amazing, the villains (once you figure out who they are) acceptable.

For me it is almost like a coming of age story, as he has to figure out who he is, accept who/what he is, and understand the repercussions of his choices. All the while trying to become comfortable (again) in his skin.

This is my first m/m paranormal romance and I have come back to re-read all three many times. I can't find any that compare.

Sire & childe is a ok read not really my thing kind of slow for me I like a more fast phase book
I personally could not wrap my head around the premise of a new vampire.....
This was okay, however, I did have a hard time understanding some of it. It started out pretty great but then it became just a tiny bit monotonous for me. It still was a well written read and definitely unique.
Thought there could have been more meat to the story. Next time the author needs to include some more background info so you really understand why humans felt the way they did.
It was so interesting! i'm not going to spoil the first part of the series, but its a really great start to something fantastic! I'm seriously considering just buying the entire series.
and honestly? I thought it was cute.
This applies to the first 3 parts of the series. All are dull and plodding and end with no complete story. They read more like child development books than vampire stories, or at least what I expect of vampire stories. The entire time I was reading, I kept mentally urging the author to speed up and get to the action - didn't work. This could be a good series but its just not for me.
I'm sorry to say that I was not impressed with this book. It has potential that was never reached. It is just another average vampire story. You might see it differently, however. I just could not get into it. The story is well crafted and reflects a lot of thought by the author but could have been so much more.
